Meadowsweet, St John's Wort & Rose Oil | abhyanga body + massage oil
In the Ayurvedic tradition, abhyanga is massage with a medicated oil. The Sanskrit word for oil, sneha, also means love. Indeed there is no greater act of self-love than anointing one’s self with medicinal oils and spending time massaging the body. The skin is the frontier of the nervous system, and by practicing daily self massage, our nervous system is grounded and restored. This oil is a take on a wild abhyanga oil, created in Maine during the summer of 2018. Based in sesame and sunflower oils, it is intended to be massaged liberally on the body, paying special attention to the joints and areas of pain or inflammation. This warming oil blend permeates the skin, and with the added antiinflammatory and analgesic support of st john’s wort and meadowsweet, provides relief for soreness, stiffness, and pain.
USE: Warm bottle in a bowl of hot warm before use. Use long strokes on the limbs, and circular strokes on the joints and face. Always massage toward the direction of your heart. Allow the oil to permeate for 5-15 minutes so it can absorb and penetrate into the deeper layers of the body.
